Anisha Taiba was born April 8, 2008.
Anisha came to the Sonrise Baby Home at 3 years of age. Her mother was a teenager when she became pregnant and was living with her mother. Nothing is known about Anisha’s father, due to the fact that her mother didn’t want to disclose any information about him. Hermaternal grandmother said that Anisha’s mom had to go back to school and that she was not going to be able to keep the baby. For a woman to find and maintain jobs in Uganda, it is almost mandatory that she has a high school degree. The grandmother believes that education is the only way that a girl can make any money or succeed, so therefore, Anisha had to go. Her grandmother had so many other abandoned children living with her that she financially nor physically could take care of Anisha. She believed that giving up Anisha would be the best thing for the baby and for her daughter. When she first arrived at Sonrise Baby Home, Anisha cried constantly and just wanted to be held. She had difficulty sleeping during the night and wanted help with eating, potty, and just about everything so that she wouldn’t be alone. Anisha is a sweet girl. she loves to sing and draw. God has blessed Anisha’s life and we are claiming that He will continue this for the rest of her life.
