Sarah L.

Born June 2019

Sarah and her two sisters are from the Masese slums of Jinja town.  After being rescued and nursed back to health by the Sonrise Baby Home, the 3 sisters transitioned to the Mirembe Cottage for Girls. Sarah is the second of the three siblings: Keem and Manjeri, both at Mirembe Cottage.

Sarah’s mother, grappling with HIV, mental illness and alcoholism, abandoned them with their grandmother. Tragically, their grandmother succumbed to cancer, leaving Sarah and her siblings without care. Their father, also struggling with alcoholism, neglected their well-being, leaving the children malnourished and near death.

During their grandmother’s burial, a family member who’s being cared for at the Mirembe Cottage for Girls discovered their situation, leading to the rescue of the 3 siblings. Now at Mirembe Cottage, Sarah and her sisters are surrounded by love, care, and the promise of a brighter future.

Please keep Sarah and her siblings in your prayers as they heal and grow. You can support Sarah’s journey by sponsoring her through the link below.
