A Fragile Start, A Chance to Thrive

Salama’s mother passed away during childbirth, leaving her father overwhelmed and grieving. He handed his newborn daughter to her grandmother, hoping she would be cared for—but without proper support, Salama quickly became sick and severely malnourished.

As her condition worsened, a concerned neighbor urged the father to seek help. He went to the local authorities, who referred him to the probation office. Damali, Sonrise Baby Home Director, was contacted, and baby Salama was rushed to the hospital.

Today, Salama has graduated from the Baby Home and now lives at Sonrise Children’s Home, where she will continue to grow, learn, and dream.
