Meet Maria

Maria’s life began under heartbreaking circumstances. Her mother, still a young girl herself, became pregnant after an assault, an experience that changed her life forever.

After giving birth, Maria’s mother longed to return to school and continue her education, hoping to reclaim her future. But with no one to care for her newborn baby, she was faced with an impossible decision. Wanting the best for her daughter, she reached out for help.

A caring probation officer contacted Damali, the Sonrise Baby Home Director, and little Maria was brought into the loving arms of the Baby Home.

Since that day, Maria has been surrounded by warmth, safety, and love. She’s no longer just a child born from tragedy; she’s a little girl with a future full of promise. You can always recognize her by her laugh.

Today, Maria has graduated from the Baby Home and now lives at Sonrise Children’s Home, where she will continue to grow, learn, and dream of a brighter future.
